Kings introduce “Skater Night” ticket package

Posted by rc360 on April 3, 2010

Sacramento Kings fans can buy a package for “Skater Night” on April 10, promoting the Maloof Money Cup.

For $49, fans get two tickets worth $40.50 each to watch the Kings take on Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks, meet professional skaters Ryan Sheckler, Brandon Biebel and Steve Caballero, and the choice of a Biebel skteboard deck by GIRL or Maloof Money Cup hat by Neff.

Fans are invited to bring their skateboards to the outdoor miniskate park before the game, starting at 4 p.m. Skater-themed prizes will be awarded throughout the evening, including a trip to the Maloof Money Cup in Costa Mesa in August.

The Cup, created by Kings co-owners Joe and Gavin Maloof, is an annual skateboarding festival that hosts the U.S. Pro Men’s and Women’s Street Championships, and the U.S. Pro Vert and Maloof Money Cup Amateur championships.

This year, the event will take place in Flushing Meadows in Queens, N.Y., on June 5 and 6 and Costa Mesa from August 4-8.

The event, which was started in 2008, will give out $450,000 in prize money, the biggest pot in professional skateboarding history.

The Maloofs also created the Maloof Skateboarding Assistance Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides monetary support for injured skateboarders and builds skate parks.

Tickets for Skater Night can be purchased at the Arco Arena box office or online at Ticketmaster.
